SINGAPORE: Factory output continued to slide in April but the rate of decline – while worse than analysts’ forecasts – was markedly lower than the big drop recorded in March.

Manufacturing production fell 1.6% in April over the same month in 2023, a striking improvement from the 9.2% tumble the sector registered in March.
