CIC, UM in deal to standardise ESG reporting


PETALING JAYA: CIC Capital Consultancy Sdn Bhd and Universiti Malaya (UM) came together for a memorandum of agreement signing ceremony at UM’s campus, marking the commencement of a collaborative effort to develop a standard guideline for environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting.

In his address, UM deputy vice-chancellor Prof Dr Kaharudin Dimyati highlighted the profound impact of integrating ESG principles and articulated UM’s dedication to driving sustainable practices.

He expressed optimism about the productivity of the collaboration, emphasising the need for concerted efforts to establish a standardised ESG reporting framework.

CIC Capital Consultancy executive director Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Yunus emphasised the pivotal role of standardised ESG reporting and called upon both public and private sectors to rally behind this initiative, shaping a more transparent and sustainable future for Malaysia.

This strategic collaboration capitalises on the synergies between UM’s academic depth, research capabilities, and CIC’s three decades of industry experience and excellence.

The partnership signifies a shared commitment to drive positive change in ESG reporting practices, bringing about a new era of transparency, accountability, and sustainability for Malaysia.
