Auditors flag Rimbunan Sawit as liabilities exceeding assets

PETALING JAYA: Rimbunan Sawit Bhd said its external auditor has issued a statement of material uncertainty related to going concern for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the plantation company said the auditor, Messrs Crowe Malaysia PLT, had flagged Note 4 in its financial statements, which stated its current liabilities exceeded its current assets by RM119.9mil.

“This condition, along with other matters as set forth in Note 4, indicates that a material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the company’s ability to continue as a going concern. Our opinion is not modified in respect of this matter,” the auditor said.

The auditors also flagged Rimbunan’s oil palm plantation assets, which had a carrying amount of RM534.1mil as at Dec 31, 2025, with no impairment recognised during the year.

“Accordingly, the company may be unable to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business.”
