MAA appoints Mohd Shamsor as new president


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has appointed Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain as its new president for the 2023/2034 term.

In a statement, MAA said the appointment of Mohd Shamsor, who is the marketing director of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, comes following the passing of its former long-serving president, Datuk Aishah Ahamad, in February.

Meanwhile, two past MAA vice-presidents, Tan Keng Meng from Tan Chong & Sons Motor Co Sdn Bhd and Sarly Adle Sarkum from Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd returned to their respective positions.

Sime Darby Hyundai Sdn Bhd's Low Yuan Lung was also elected as vice-president; and Arman Mahadi from Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was re-elected as honorary secretary/treasurer.

The association had also re-elected its five council members, namely Derrick Sim (Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd), David Nah (Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd), Datuk Samson Anand George (Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd), Hoffen Teh (Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd) and Say Teck Ming (Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd.

Syed Muzri Syed Faiz (Jaguar Land Rover (M) Sdn Bhd) was also appointed as a new council member.
