Theta Edge unit designated universal service provider for Jendela Phase 1


KUALA LUMPUR: Theta Edge Bhd's unit Theta Telecoms Sdn Bhd has been appointed the designated universal service provider for the provision and implementation of the Jendela Phase 1 project issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

In a bourse filing, the group said the award relates to the supply, delivery and installation of the lower structures and its ancillaries for the provision of public cellular services for 221 locations in the universal service targets for 14 clusters.

It said the total project cost will be a maximum of RM154.36mil, with a implementation period of nine months from the date of acceptance.

"The Project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of Theta Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2022," it said.

At 12.30pm, Theta was trading seven sen or 8.28% higher at 91.5 sen a share on the back of 6.64 million units exchanging hands.
