Boustead, Boustead Plantations appoint new directors


KUALA LUMPUR: Boustead Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Maulizan Bujang as an independent non-executive director of the board.

Maulizan, 58, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University, Kansas, USA as well as a Diploma in Business Studies from the Institute of Commercial Management.

He served various positions in the Johor State Government from 1994 to 2013 and currently sits as chairman for Gerbang Nusajaya Development Sdn Bhd since 2008.

Previously, Maulizan held the position of Director for DK Leather Corp Bhd from 2006 to 2008, chairman for Fella Holding Bhd (Fella Design) from 1997 to 2008 as well as director for Budiara Sdn Bhd from 1996 to 2008.

Separately, Boustead Plantations Bhd has appointed Datuk Mustapa Kamal Mohd Yusoff and Datuk Abdul Ghani Abdul Rashid as independent non-executive directors, effective Feb 1, 2022.

Mustapa, 58, has served as a member of advisory board for Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur between 2008 to 2018, and has held several directorships throughout his professional career.

He was appointed as a Member of Dewan Negara, Parliament of Malaysia, between 2016 to 2019.

Currently, Mustapa serves as chairman of YWP Media Sdn Bhd and member of the board of trustees for Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan.

Abdul Ghani, 59, is an experienced educator. He attained a Diploma Perguruan Malaysia in 1984 and subsequently began his professional career as a teacher in 1985. He left the teaching profession in 2000 to pursue other professional opportunities.
