Hap Seng Land bags Malaysia Book of Records award

PETALING JAYA: Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd has bagged the Malaysia Book of Records for the “Highest Indoor Green Wall”.

The green wall is located in Menara Hap Seng 3 featuring a 91.55 high indoor green wall, spanning vertically across all 20 levels of office space. It houses 10 different species of plants with over 27,000 individual pots.

“We’re extremely excited to be recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records today, a testament to the Group’s core strength in innovation and foresight in quality and sustainable designs,” said Hap Seng Consolidated group chairman Thomas Karl Rapp during his speech at the certificate presentation ceremony by Malaysia Book of Records on Wednesday.

The award in recognition of the ‘Highest Indoor Green Wall’ by The Malaysia Book of Records was presented to Hap Seng Realty (Autohaus) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd.

Also present at the ceremony were Hap Seng Consolidated group MD Datuk Edward Lee, group COO Harald Behrend, Hap Seng Land COO David Khor and general manager Allan Teh.

Khor said it took about six-month to complete the research and development of the green indoor wall, and it was designed by Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).

“This marked a milestone for the Hap Seng group for its green and sustainability aspirations,” he said.

Teh said Menara Hap Seng 3 was built with nature in mind.

“The wall is not only the masterpiece of the building, but also sets the tone for the entire building’s internal open areas.

“This feature illuminates the office levels in Menara Hap Seng 3 and brings light to every discussion and visit,” explained Teh.

Located at a prominent Kuala Lumpur intersection, Menara Hap Seng 3 is the latest addition to Plaza Hap Seng, which comprises Menara Hap Seng, Menara Hap Seng 2 and Menara Hap Seng 3.

All the three office towers are seamlessly connected via pedestrian link bridges and basement car parks.
