Former Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria appointed as PNB group chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra (YPB) today has announced the appointment of former Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria as Group Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) effective May 6.

Tun Arifin was appointed to the post after Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz had decided not to renew her tenure as group chairman upon the completion of her three-year term on April 30.

Tun Arifin was Chief Justice of Malaysia between 2011 and 2017 and Chief Judge of the High Court of Malaya from 2008 to 2011.

YPB also announced the appointment of Datin Norazah Razali to the PNB Board of Directors with effect from May 6.

Norazah is currently Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), supporting and advising businesses and organisations across South East Asia.

“The Board, management and staff of PNB wish a warm welcome to Tun Arifin and Datin Norazah to the PNB Board and look forward to their stewardship of the institution and the assets that we manage on behalf of over 14 million Malaysians,” said Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, PNB President & Group Chief Executive.

PNB is the country’s largest fund management company with assets under management of RM322.6bil.
