Malaysia's October palm oil stocks up

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's total palm oil stocks in October 2015 increased 7.29 per cent to 2.83 million tonnes against 2.64 million tonnes registered in the previous month, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

In a statement on Wednesday, MPOB said crude palm oil (CPO) stocks for October rose 8.88 per cent to 1.71 million tonnes against 1.57 million tonnes previously.

Processed palm oil stocks grew by 4.96 per cent to 1.13 million tonnes in October, it said.

Palm kernel production eased 0.68 per cent to 486,309 tonnes in October from 489,614 tonnes previously.

Meanwhile, palm oil exports rose 1.87 per cent to 1.71 million tonnes, while exports of oleochemicals increased 1.10 per cent to 252,973 tonnes from 250,216 tonnes.

Exports of biodiesel were sharply lower at 11,334 tonnes, down 63.93 per cent from 31,423 tonnes previously, it added. - Bernama
