PETALING JAYA: Chin Teck Plantations Bhd
has resumed harvesting activities and mill operations at its oil palm plantations in Lampung Province, Indonesia, following disruptions caused by unrest in surrounding villages since previous financial years.
“The oil palm plantations have since commenced harvesting activities and mill operations. Total area accessed is approximately 53.61% of the total planted area,” it said in its Bursa Malaysia filing.
However, harvesting at its joint venture plantation in South Sumatera remains suspended pending clearance from the relevant authorities following similar unrest.
For the fourth quarter ended Aug 31, 2026, Chin Teck's net profit declined 68.6% year-on-year (YOY) to RM36.4mil from RM115.7mil a year earlier.
Revenue fell 41.7% YOY to RM56.4mil, mainly due to lower sales volumes of fresh fruit bunches, crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels despite higher average selling prices.
For the full financial year, net profit declined 53.4% YOY to RM93.5mil, while revenue fell 12.6% YOY to RM270.5mil.
Looking ahead, the group expects satisfactory plantation performance in the financial year ending Aug 31, 2027.
“CPO prices are expected to remain elevated in FY27 and the group expects satisfactory plantation results in the year,” it said.
