Top Malaysian singers Nigel Tay and Eylia Guntabid are the opening acts as the Hillsong Worship concert returns to KL and KK

Excitement is reaching a fever pitch across the nation as the Hillsong Worship Nights Asia Tour 2026 gears up for its landmark arrival in Malaysia.

Adding to the excitement, organiser Star Planet has announced two outstanding Malaysian artists as special opening acts - celebrated Malaysian singer-songwriter Nigel Tay setting the tone in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 9 and Sabah-born vocal powerhouse Eylia Guntabid electrifying the crowd in Kota Kinabalu on Sept 13.

The two concerts will be held at the Mega Star Arena in KL (Sept 9) and the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu (Sept 13).

Their addition brings a distinctive homegrown touch to both nights, setting the stage for an inspiring celebration of music, worship and connection alongside Hillsong Worship’s globally loved anthems.

Nigel Tay is a talented Malaysian singer-songwriter and producer known for his refreshing blend of R&B, soul and contemporary pop. With his distinctive warm vocals, effortless musical style and releases including Créma, HOOKED and Manhattan Beach, Nigel has carved out a sound that feels both modern and unmistakably his own.

Bringing his signature energy to the stage, he is set to deliver an engaging opening performance and set the perfect tone for an unforgettable night ahead.

     

Eylia Guntabid is a rising Sabah-born vocal powerhouse whose remarkable talent has earned recognition both locally and internationally. Crowned champion of StarVoices Asia Season 7, a multiple gold medalist at the World Championships of Performing Arts, and a standout performer on Bintang RTM 2024, Eylia has steadily established herself as one of Sabah’s exciting emerging voices.

such as her 2026 single Langadon Oku Sabah, Eylia is set to bring a special homegrown presence to Hillsong Worship’s historic first-ever concert in Kota Kinabalu.

Beyond the local opening acts, the main event unites a powerhouse international lineup. Hillsong Worship gathers gifted team members from Australia, the UK, Indonesia, and the United States, blending diverse cultural roots into a unified global voice.
