BANGKOK: An early-morning shooting incident in Nikhom Phatthana district of Thailand's eastern Rayong province left two people dead and two others injured, local media reported on Tuesday (Aug 25).
Preliminary police findings indicate that a man got into an argument with a roadside store owner while buying water. He later returned with a firearm and fired multiple shots.
The store owner, a man in his 40s, and his 33-year-old friend were shot dead. Two others were injured and taken to hospital. Police recovered ten 9-millimetre handgun shell casings at the scene.
After the shooting, the suspect fled by vehicle and was later intercepted and detained by police. The motive and further details of the case remain under investigation. - Xinhua
