Large stash of drugs seized

POLICE have seized 12.21kg of heroin, 366,000 stimulant tablets and other drugs in Mandalay region, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narco­tics police searched vehicles in Chanayethazan township on Aug 19 and seized 1.21kg of heroin.

Police also recovered 2.5kg of crude opium in Chanmyathazi township on the same day.

The next day, they confiscated another 11kg of heroin, 366,000 stimulant tablets, 48kg of raw opium and 12.5kg of crude opium.
