Two killed, three injured in bus accident in central Nepal


KATHMANDU: Two people were killed and three others injured on Saturday (Aug 15) after a bus rolled forward and plunged down a cliff in Nepal's central Nuwakot district, police said.

The passenger bus suddenly began moving and rammed into an empty electric vehicle van parked along the roadside, sending both vehicles about 40 metres down the cliff, according to police.

"Two people were pronounced dead at a hospital, while three others are receiving treatment in Kathmandu," Iqbal Hawari, spokesperson for the district police, told Xinhua.

Police have arrested the bus driver for further investigation. - Xinhua
