Lao National Assembly President passes away


VIENTIANE: Lao National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane (pic) passed away at 11:18 am local time on Saturday (Aug 8), following an illness, reported Xinhua quoting a Pasaxon newspaper report.

To honour his contributions and express their deepest condolences, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and the government have agreed to observe a five-day national mourning period from Aug 9 to 13. - Bernama/Xinhua
