MANILA: Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun is set to return to the Philippines for a fan meet, marking one of his major comeback events after being cleared of underage dating allegations.
Soo-hyun’s fan meet scheduled on Oct 2 in Manila was organized and announced by a Philippine clothing and lifestyle brand he endorses.
“I’ve missed you all so much. I’m truly happy to be back with [the brand] and to see you again,” he said in a recently released video.
Just prior to this, Soo-hyun was cleared of allegations of violating South Korea’s Child Welfare Act, which stemmed from a criminal complaint filed by the family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron in May 2025.
The family of Sae-ron alleged that Soo-hyun dated the late actress when she was just 15 years old.
The camp of the Korean actor admitted that he and Sae-ron indeed dated in the past, but stressed that the actress was not underage when their relationship began.
The police also concluded in May that the supposed evidence against Soo-hyun — which included messages and voice recordings — had been manipulated and generated using artificial intelligence.
Soo-hyun is best known for starring in several hit Korean series including “Dream High,” “My Love from the Star,” “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and “Queen of Tears.” - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
