BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Village Consultative Council of Kampong Lumut 2 hosted a lively showcase of tradition and culture as part of the nightly stage performance at the Pentas Perayaan at Tudong Saji, Kuala Belait on Saturday (July 18) evening in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 80th birthday celebration.
Chaired by Village Head of Kampong Lumut 2 Khairdon Dahlan, the event featured a vibrant traditional display of tradition and culture led by the Mukun Selendang Sutera Brunei members.
Among the performance highlights were traditional gambus music, regional folk songs, timeless hits from the 1960s, and contemporary favourites, highlighting Brunei’s rich musical and cultural heritage.
Acting chairman of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Amirul Shukri Hafneh was the guest of honour.
Ambassador-designate of China to Brunei Darussalam Chen Shaochun, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Imagine Sdn Bhd Ahmad Fathi bin Datuk Paduka Junaidi and Company Secretary of Hengyi Industries Li Peng were in attendance. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
