Brunei launches training programmes to empower entrepreneurs

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei's largest bank, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), has initiated a transformative entrepreneurial journey for 13 selected participants from government agencies, community organisations and the public under its SEED programme.

According to local media reports on Saturday, the program focuses on empowering aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women and individuals from underrepresented or vulnerable communities, through entrepreneurship training, mentorship and business support.

The program aims to strengthen participants' economic resilience while creating pathways to sustainable income generation and improved quality of life.

The bank said the initiative is aligned with the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035, particularly in nurturing a skilled and productive population, enhancing quality of life and supporting sustainable economic development. -- Xinhua
