Digital Brunei 2030 to drive nation's digital transformation, says minister

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Digital Brunei 2030 represents the next phase of the nation's digital journey that unites digital approaches across government, society, business, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) into one coordinated national direction under Brunei Vision 2035, according to Brunei's Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Digital Brunei Economy Forum 2026 on Wednesday, Mohd Riza Mohd Yunos, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, said the success of Digital Brunei 2030 would depend on strong collaboration between the government and the private sector.

He said industry must become the engine of digital transformation by driving innovation, investing in skills development, and working closely with the government to deliver secure, integrated and accessible digital services.

The one-day forum brought together government representatives and industry players to discuss Brunei's digital transformation priorities and the practical implementation of Digital Brunei 2030.

Held under the theme "Digital Brunei Action from Strategy to Implementation," this year's forum focused on accelerating the adoption of Brunei's digital transformation agenda and strengthening capabilities needed to build a trusted, inclusive and commercially relevant digital economy. - XINHUA
