BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN:Twenty heads of households, clients of the Majlis Kesejahteraan Masyarakat (MKM), received donations of essential food items from JKG Brunei Team during a presentation ceremony at the council’s office in Anggerek Desa, Berakas on Saturday (June 27).

The initiative led by Jeslyn Khoo, benefited 20 underprivileged families.

Vice President 1 MKM Mohd Laini Majid in his welcoming remarks noted that the event was not just a gathering as a community but is about making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Quoting the saying, ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever waste’, he noted that every contribution regardless big or small, has the power to change someone’s life and together, creating a stronger, more caring community where no one is left behind.

Welcoming the contribution, he noted that it reflects the continued support the council receives from various parties in safeguarding the welfare and well-being of those in need across the country. He also noted that collaborative efforts play an important role in strengthening the nation’s culture of care and mutual assistance.

The contribution reflects the team’s commitment to creating a positive impact and inspiring more individuals to play a role in building a caring and compassionate society while the distribution of food aid forms part of the group’s ongoing efforts to support less fortunate families in Brunei Darussalam. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
