Brunei briefing boosts online scam awareness


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) recently delivered a briefing on ‘Online Scams’ during the Retirement Preparation Course at the Civil Service Institute.

Inspector Adinin Ahmad, delivering the briefing, highlighted the threats posed by online scams as well as the necessary steps to take when receiving suspicious information. Participants were also advised to report any suspected scams via the Online Scam Hotline 16993.

The briefing aimed to enhance participants’ awareness of online scam-related offences and preventive measures to avoid becoming victims. It was attended by 39 participants comprising officers and staff from various ministries and government departments. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
