BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The search operation for a missing man believed to have been attacked by a crocodile in Kampong Baru Sungai Bera entered its third day yesterday, as rescue teams continued efforts with no trace of the victim.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), the search operation has involved continuous river patrols using FRD boats, searches along the riverbanks, and aerial surveillance using the department’s drones.

The operation is also supported by Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) personnel, including officers from Seria Police Station and the Royal Brunei Police Force Marine Police (POLMAR), as well as the Wildlife Division.
The search operation is currently led by the Commanding Officer of the Operations Branch, Senior Superintendent Amirul Hadi Junaidi.
The FRD on Wednesday (June 24) received the distress call of a male victim, believed to be attacked by a crocodile.

Two fire engine with nine personnel led by Acting Station Officer Mohd Zulkifli Md Tahir were deployed.
Upon arrival at the scene, preliminary investigations conducted with the victim’s family revealed that the male victim was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the river.
A Tactical Command Post was subsequently established, and FRD personnel launched a search operation by deploying firefighters and firefighting assets, including the use of drones to assist in the search efforts. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
