Search underway in Brunei for missing fisherman believed attacked by crocodile

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department are conducting a search operation in Kampong Sungai Bera for a man who went missing and is believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, a distress call was received at 6.05pm on Wednesday (June 24).

Two fire engines and nine personnel from the Seria Fire Station, led by Acting Station Officer Zulkifli, were deployed to the scene.

Personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force were also present to assist in the operation.

A Tactical Command Post was established in the area, and firefighters immediately began searching for the victim along the river.

The search operation was temporarily suspended at midnight before resuming on Thursday. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
