Desa Kerayong Indah marks a major recovery milestone as the revival effort gains significant progress

Open House officiated by Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Housing (fifth from the left), celebrates progress delivered by Probil Industries and Dimensi Jayamas.

Hundreds of homebuyers, community members and stakeholders gathered at the Desa Kerayong Indah launching event, themed "Membina Semula Keyakinan, Mengembalikan Impian" (Rebuilding Confidence, Restoring Dreams), officiated by Datuk Borhan bin Aman Shah, the Selangor State Executive Councillor for Housing, marking a significant milestone in the revival of one of Selangor's long-delayed housing developments.

Speaking at the event, Borhan said the progress achieved at Desa Kerayong Indah demonstrates the importance of perseverance, collaboration and accountability in addressing long-standing housing challenges.

"Housing is not merely about buildings and infrastructure. It is about restoring hope, dignity and opportunities for families to build a better future. I would like to commend and thank the team behind this achievement, particularly Probil Industries and Dimensi Jayamas, for their commitment in driving the revival effort forward and making today's milestone possible," he said.

After decades of uncertainty surrounding the long-delayed Desa Kerayong Indah development, homebuyers are now witnessing tangible progress on the ground as the project advances under a structured revival programme led by Probil Industries, the LPHS-appointed rescue contractor, together with Dimensi Jayamas Sdn. Bhd., the recognised joint venture contractor and developer for the project.

More than a revival, the latest progress reflects years of coordinated efforts involving state agencies, local authorities, technical departments and the revival team to address longstanding challenges that have affected the development since its inception in 1999.

Located on a 216-acre site in Mukim Jeram, Kuala Selangor, Desa Kerayong Indah was originally conceived as a Selangor State Government initiative to provide organised settlement opportunities and homeownership for local communities. However, the project faced significant setbacks following the failure of the original contractor to complete the development, resulting in years of uncertainty for purchasers.

Today, the project is entering a new chapter. Through the revival programme spearheaded by Probil Industries and supported by Dimensi Jayamas, significant milestones have been achieved, including the securing of planning approvals, coordination with multiple technical agencies and the advancement of key infrastructure works necessary to move the project forward.

Unlike previous attempts, the current revival programme is supported by active engagement and constant monitoring by the dedicated team of Urusetia Jawatankuasa Projek Terbengkalai Daerah Kuala Selangor, led by Faezah Abd Aziz, Director of the Building Control Department, together with the Planning, Architecture and Project Monitoring Unit of Lembaga Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor (LPHS).

Through ongoing coordination, stakeholder engagement and continuous oversight, the team works closely with relevant authorities and agencies, including LPHS, Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Selangor (MPKS), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Air Selangor, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK), Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR), Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) and Pejabat Tanah dan Daerah Kuala Selangor, to facilitate the project's progress and implementation.

Recent progress achieved includes completed earthworks, substantial advancement of drainage infrastructure, retention pond and sewerage facilities, as well as ongoing building works within the development. These milestones form part of a broader effort to establish the infrastructure and regulatory foundation required for long-term project completion.

According to DatukAhmad Kamal Ghazali, Managing Director of Probil Industries, the team's focus has always been on delivering measurable progress rather than promises.

He said: “We understand that trust must be earned through action. Over the past few years, our priority has been to work closely with the relevant authorities, every approval obtained, every infrastructure milestone achieved and every step taken on-site represents our commitment to restoring confidence and delivering on a promise that has been awaited for far too long.”

In addition to the significant revival progress achieved, Desa Kerayong Indah is now open for sale, offering bungalow homes from RM500,000 onwards with land sizes starting from 4,000 sq ft.

Strategically located near UiTM Puncak Alam within a rapidly developing growth corridor, the township is set to benefit from major infrastructure developments, including the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), alongside the growing presence of commercial and community amenities in the surrounding area. Combining affordability and future growth potential, Desa Kerayong Indah presents an attractive opportunity for families seeking a quality landed home within a well-connected community.

Existing purchasers who had previously entered into agreements under the abandoned development are strongly encouraged to engage with the newly appointed developer-cum-main contractor to explore the opportunities made available through the township's revival initiative. As part of the revival programme, a range of specially structured solutions and support packages has been developed to assist affected purchasers in moving forward and participating in the renewed progress of Desa Kerayong Indah.

Those existing purchasers are invited to meet with the project team to receive the latest project updates, gain a clearer understanding of the available pathways, and discuss the most suitable options towards securing their future home within the revitalised township.

For customer care support and to arrange a consultation session, affected purchasers may contact +60 12-818 1715 or +60 3-7931 0715. The dedicated project team will be available to provide assistance, address enquiries and guide purchasers through the solutions available under the project's revival programme. For many purchasers and families, Desa Kerayong Indah represents far more than a housing development. It symbolises a dream that has endured through generations — a dream of security, stability and a place to call home. After years of challenges and uncertainty, the project is now progressing steadily, bringing renewed confidence that the long-awaited aspiration of homeownership is finally within reach.
