Brunei Sultan in the Philippines for 48th Asean Summit

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah left for Cebu City, the Philippines on Wednesday (May 6) to attend the 48th Asean Summit and Related Summit from May 7-8.

Accompanying the Sultan was Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at BGEN Benito Ebuen Air Base in Cebu, the Sultan was welcomed by Secretary of Social Welfare and Developments Rexlon T Gatchalian; Cebu Governor Pamela S Baricuatro; Mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Ma Cynthia Chan; Philippines Presidential Chief of Protocol Reichel Quinones; and senior officials from the Philippines.

Also present to greet His Majesty on arrival was Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines Megawati Manan. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
