PETALING JAYA: World No. 6 men’s doubles shuttler Man Wei Chong began a new chapter in his life after marrying his girlfriend, Ai Ting, on Wednesday (May 6).

The couple tied the knot just six months after getting engaged on Nov 26 last year.

The wedding reception, held at the Selangor Assembly Hall, was attended by several of Wei Chong’s teammates from the national squad, including Aaron Chia, Choong Hon Jian, Loo Bing Kun and Hoo Pang Ron.

Many also took to social media to congratulate the newlyweds and wish them a happy married life. “Congratulations to Man (Wei Chong) and wife, God bless,” wrote national doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky on social media.

Wei Chong, 25, recently returned after competing in the Thomas Cup in Horsens last week.

The marriage is expected to give Wei Chong added motivation as he and partner Tee Kai Wun prepare to defend their title at the Malaysian Masters from May 19-24.
