Malaysia set to host first-ever study in Turkiye Education Fair beginning from Monday (April 27)

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian set-up, SIT Connect Asia, has announced the inaugural Study in Türkiye Education Fair 2026, a groundbreaking event that marks the first time Turkiye's leading universities have come together for a dedicated education fair simultaneously across three nations: Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore.

This inaugural event brings 15+ of Türkiye's most prestigious MQA-recognised universities directly to students across the region.

The fair was officially launched at a press conference held on Saturday, with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, who will personally grace the event in Penang, and also a clear testament to Türkiye's unwavering commitment to expanding international education ties with South-East Asia.

Türkiye has emerged as one of the world's most dynamic higher education destinations, offering over 45,000 courses across diverse fields — from engineering and medicine to the arts, architecture, agriculture, aerospace and aeronautics, defence, and Artificial Intelligence, as well as TVET.

Despite this, only approximately 300 Malaysian students are currently studying in Türkiye — a figure that SIT Connect Asia hopes to improve in a big way.

"Our goal is clear: 10,000 Malaysian students studying in Türkiye by 2030," said a spokesperson from SIT Connect Asia. "Türkiye offers world-class education with European recognition — and we want every Malaysian student to know this door is wide open."

The events and venue for the education tour:

* Monday (April 27): By Invitation to Education Institutions (Special B2B Session) - Menara Felda Kuala Lumpur (11am-4pm)

* Tuesday (April 28): Open to all students - Menara Felda Kuala Lumpur (9am-4pm)

* Thursday (April 30): Open to all students - G Hotel Gurney, Georgetown (9am-5pm)

* May 2: Open to all students - Radisson Hotel, Brunei (9am-5pm)

* May 4: Open to all students - Novotel on Kitchener, Singapore (9am-5pm)

Before the public fair, a special B2B Institutional Collaboration Session will be held exclusively on 27 April 2026 at Menara Felda, Kuala Lumpur. This exclusive session is open to upper-level high schools, universities, polytechnics, colleges, and government institutions from Malaysia to forge direct partnerships with Turkish universities — covering academic exchange programmes, joint research, student mobility, and dual-degree collaborations.

This initiative reflects Türkiye's strategic intent to build a sustainable institutional bridge with Malaysian higher education bodies, paving the way for long-term academic and industry cooperation between both nations.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FAIR

* Meet representatives from 15+ top Turkish universities — directly, not through agents

* Free one-on-one academic and career consultation sessions

* Opportunities for full scholarships funded through Türkiye's extensive waqf (Islamic endowment) network — a unique advantage for students from underprivileged backgrounds.

* Special pathways for TVET students to pursue internationally-recognised qualifications in Türkiye

* Degrees carry full European and World recognition, opening doors to careers and industrial training worldwide, especially in Europe.

For the record, SIT Connect Asia Sdn Bhd is a Malaysia-based education consultancy dedicated to bridging the gap between South-East Asian students and world-class international universities.
