HONG KONG: The Kai Tak Sports Park has made it to Time magazine’s World's Greatest Places 2026 list, highlighting the city’s efforts to enhance its appeal as an international destination for major events and large-scale entertainment.

The only Hong Kong attraction included in the list, the park celebrated the milestone by illuminating on the evening of March 19 the exterior screen of its main stadium with a scrolling message in both Chinese and English: "Kai Tak Sports Park: World's 100 greatest places to visit 2026 (TIME)". The display was also accompanied by animated fireworks.

The HK$30 billion sports park is Hong Kong's largest sports and entertainment venue.

Since it opened in early 2025, the Kai Tak Stadium alone has welcomed over 2 million spectators and ranked third for ticket sales and fifth for gross revenue globally last year, leading all Asian venues in both categories, according to the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Hong Kong. - China Daily/ANN
