BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed gratitude for the gift of recovery bestowed upon the Ruler, and for the opportunity to deliver the Ruler’s titah after completing medical treatment.
This experience, said the Sultan, is a reminder of the importance of safeguarding health, as it is an invaluable blessing. Good health not only enables one to worship and serve more perfectly, but it is also a shared trust.
“In this noble month of Ramadan, the blessing of health becomes the foundation for us to perform our fasting and charitable deeds with sincerity, thereby drawing closer to Allah the Almighty.”
Taking care of health also means safeguarding the well-being of family and society, for a healthy body allows one to continue contributing to national development and the welfare of the ummah.
“On this occasion, with utmost sincerity and deep emotion, I would like to record my highest appreciation and thanks to the citizens and residents of Brunei who prayed for my health and recovery. I truly appreciate every remembrance and support extended to me.”
The monarch believes that all the efforts in performing special prayers (solat hajat), recitations of Surah Yaasiin, and supplications that were offered have been heard and answered by Allah the Almighty.
The prayers offered have been a great source of strength to the Sultan, who was deeply touched to know that people from all walks of life, both within and outside the country, regardless of age, race, or religion, including children, joined in praying for the Ruler’s health.
“I would also like to express my highest appreciation and gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses the Malay Rulers, as well as leaders and dignitaries from friendly nations who sent messages conveying their prayers for my health.”
The Sultan prays that the good relations that have long been established will continue to be strengthened and facilitated for mutual well-being.
The monarch also recorded sincere appreciation and highest recognition to the doctors and medical teams, comprising local and international specialists, for their dedication and cooperation in providing the Ruler with the best possible treatment.
“May Allah the Almighty reward all these good deeds with multiplied blessings and grant health, well-being, and prosperity to all.”
Sultan Hassanal also offers highest gratitude to Allah the Almighty for His Majesty’s grace and blessings in being able to meet again in the blessed month of Ramadan in a peaceful, harmonious, and blessed atmosphere.
Taking the opportunity of this blessed month of Ramadan, the Ruler calls on everyone to raise hands in supplication, seeking forgiveness from Allah the Almighty, seeking to be spared from the Hellfire, be granted long life to meet the month of Ramadan repeatedly, and be blessed with good health to perform fasting with perfection and tranquility.
“Ramadan is a time to accumulate rewards. Let us resolve together to enliven Ramadan with fasting and other acts of worship such as reciting Al-Quran, performing Tarawih prayers and Qiamullail, while also maintaining good health through proper nutrition.”
This month, added the monarch, also teaches moderation; by avoiding wastefulness, blessings are utilised to give and share with those in need.
To further enliven Ramadan, as is customary, the Sultan calls upon all parties at the ministry, department, and private sector levels, as well as the entire community, to fill their time with acts of worship and increase religious activities and charitable deeds.
“Finally, my family and I sincerely and joyfully wish all Muslim citizens and residents wherever they may be a blessed observance of the fasting month. May Allah the Almighty bless our Ramadan and allow us to fast in an atmosphere of peace, harmony and prosperity.”
