BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei's Tourism Development Department, together with 40 licensed tour guides, attended a talk on the history of Borneo island as part of efforts to enhance the quality of tourism services and strengthen historical knowledge.

In a press release issued on Monday (July 6), the department said it is important to ensure that every licensed tourist guide carries out their roles and responsibilities effectively, particularly in providing visitors with accurate, clear and easy-to-understand information.

The department added that tour guides should also possess a basic understanding of Borneo's history to enrich tourists' experience in the country.

The programme aims to strengthen the quality and image of Brunei's tourism industry while contributing to the development of historical knowledge and reinforcing the nation's identity. It also serves as a strategic platform to generate awareness for Visit Brunei Year 2027. - Xinhua
