Scouts foster Brunei-Indonesia friendship

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) hosted a welcoming ceremony for a goodwill delegation from the Sambas Scout Branch (Kwartir Cabang Gerakan Pramuka Sambas) of West Kalimantan, Indonesia, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the PPNBD Headquarters at the Scout Complex in Beribi, Gadong on Friday (July 3).

The programme saw welcoming remarks from PPNBD Chief Commissioner Skip Junaidi Hussin, cultural performances by representatives from Brunei, a luncheon, a cultural performance by the Sambas delegation and a closing cultural presentation by Brunei participants.

The goodwill visit aimed to strengthen friendship, cooperation and ties between PPNBD and the Sambas Scout Branch while enhancing regional networking efforts to develop disciplined, capable and community-minded youth.

Besides providing a platform to foster closer relations, the ceremony encouraged the exchange of experiences, culture and best practices in scouting between the two organisations.

It also reflected the spirit of brotherhood shared by scouts and Pramuka across borders, further strengthening the close ties between Brunei and Indonesia.
