New shipping services make maiden calls at Brunei's Muara Port

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei's Muara Port Company (MPC) marked another milestone in the country's maritime and logistics development with the maiden calls of Shandong International Transportation Corp. (SITC) and Warisan Shipping Line (WSL) on Saturday.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, Brunei's minister at the Prime Minister's Office and second minister of finance and economy, said the entry of SITC and WSL into Muara Port underscores a shared commitment to enhancing national connectivity and port throughput.

He noted that the new services support broader objectives of delivering more efficient logistics solutions while creating greater employment opportunities for Bruneians.

Jason Jiang, general manager of SITC, said they are ready to support by providing regular vessel calls and reliable services, and to help increase cargo movement and strengthen Brunei's connections with major ports in Asia. - Xinhua
