Bruneians dominate blowpipe competition in Sarawak

LAWAS: A ten-member delegation Kelab Sukan Sumpit Lun Tau (KSSLT) competed in a blowpipe competition organised by the Lun Bawang Association of Sarawak in conjunction with the 38th Lun Bawang Festival 2025 recently.

KSSLT members managed to achieve podium finishes in Category A with Alizanda Sitom claiming third place in the 40’ mixed individual event; Devid Pengiran and Dzulkifli Akim taking second and third places in the 90’ men’s individual event; Mariam Agong securing second place in 50’ women’s individual event; Alizanda Sitom and Yakub Batong snatching first and second places in 60’ men’s individual event; and Yakub Batong and Alizanda Sitom and Dzulkifli Akim finishing as champions in the 60’ open team event.

In Category B, KSSLT members Yakub Batong, Dzulkifli Akim and Alizanda Sitom took the top three places in 60’ mixed individual.

The one-day competition featuring 80 participants was held at Lawas Sports Complex and was officially opened by Sarawak state assemblyman Baru Bian.
