HYDERABAD (Bernama): Seventeen people were injured after a Delhi-bound Air India flight from Thailand encountered turbulence on Tuesday.
In a statement, Air India said flight AI2379 from Phuket experienced a sudden loss of altitude during cruise, after which the aircraft "continued normally" and landed safely in Delhi at 11.07 am local time.
"The Airbus A320neo aircraft was carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members.
"Of these, 13 passengers and four crew members sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for medical evaluation," Air India said.
The airline said it had informed the relevant regulatory authorities, as well as Airbus, and was cooperating with the investigation into the incident.
