PETALING JAYA: The delivery of assistance and welfare support to the people of Ampang will continue in an efficient and effective manner, says Datuk Azman Abidin (pic).
In a statement Wednesday (Aug 5), the Prime Minister's political secretary said he had been entrusted to serve as the Ampang parliamentary coordinator to ensure the delivery of assistance and welfare support to the people of Ampang continues.
"I will coordinate efforts with the Prime Minister’s Department through the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU JPM), as well as relevant government agencies, to ensure that every government initiative can be delivered to the people more effectively.
"The delivery of assistance will also be closely coordinated with state assemblymen in the Ampang parliamentary constituency, community leaders and relevant parties to ensure that the people’s welfare continues to receive attention," he said in the statement.
He added that any application for assistance related to the welfare of residents in the Ampang parliamentary constituency could be submitted directly to the Office of the Political Secretary to the Prime Minister for appropriate co-ordination.
"My team and I are committed to carrying out this trust with full responsibility, professionalism and integrity to ensure that the welfare of Ampang residents remains a priority," he said.
Earlier, Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail said that her parliamentary service centre had lost access to the MyKHAS portal from July 29, 2026. affecting applications for People-Friendly Projects (PMR) allocations in the constituency.
Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Subang MP Wong Chen had also claimed earlier that their offices had also been denied access to the MyKHAS portal.
Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil had responded to Lee and Chen, saying that the suspension of access to the MyKHAS portal did not affect their rights or functions as elected representatives.
He explained that allocations channelled through the MyKhas platform are special funds under the Prime Minister's purview and are separate from the facilities and entitlements provided to MPs through Parliament.
