BEIJING and Bogota signed a deal that will bring Colombia into President Xi Jinping’s signature Belt and Road initiative, Chinese state media said, a sign of the country’s deepening influence in Latin America.
The agreement yesterday came on the sidelines of a gathering of leaders from the region in the Chinese capital during which Xi also pledged US$9.2bil (RM39.7bil) credit towards “development”.
