Myanmar's famed Shwedagon Pagoda attracts over 2.5 million visitors in first four months of 2025


YANGONXinhua) -- The Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda in Myanmar, attracted over 2.5 million visitors in the first four months of this year.

U Boe Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees,  confirmed tyhe numbers to Xinhua on Sunday.

Of these, over 28,000 were foreign visitors, with the most coming from China, Thailand and Vietnam, he said.

The Shwedagon Pagoda is open daily from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. - Xinhua
