NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man died after he fell out of a window on the third floor of a hotel in India in the early hours of Oct 21.

Uday Kumar, a painter, was attending a friend’s birthday celebration at VV Pride Hotel in the city of Hyderabad when the incident occurred, reported Indian newspaper The Hindu.

According to local police, Uday had stepped into the hotel lobby around 12.30am. He spotted a dog and began playing with it.

“Uday ran behind the dog across the lobby and lost control of his speed. He could not take a turn and fell through a window on the third floor. He died on the spot,” police said.

In CCTV footage of the incident released on social media, Uday is seen chasing the dog towards an open window. As the dog makes a quick turn to the right, Uday crashes through the open window and slips over the ledge, which appears to be slightly lower than his waist.

A few seconds later, a man is seen running to look out the window and then dashing off.

Uday’s body has since been taken to the hospital for a post-mortem, and his family has been informed about the incident, The Hindu report said. - The Straits Times/ANN
