BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): Outgoing Prime Minister General Prayut Cha-O-Cha has congratulated his successor Srettha Thavisin, wishing him a successful tenure as Thailand’s 30th premier.

The former property tycoon, who ran under the Pheu Thai banner, won 482 votes in the joint parliamentary sitting on Tuesday (Aug 22), far higher than the required 374 votes from MPs and senators.
