A CABINET meeting approved the Naga as Thailand’s national mythological creature to promote the study and conservation of history and culture and drive the creative economy.
Deputy government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said the move had been proposed by The National Culture Committee, which had earlier tasked the Fine Arts Department with drawing a prototype of the Naga, a half-human, half-serpentine being, to be used as a mythological national animal.
