Japan eases Covid-test requirement for vaccinated travellers

The requirement for tests will be lifted from Sept 7, says Japan PM Kishida - Reuters

TOKYO (Bloomberg): Japan will scrap a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country for those vaccinated three times as it faces calls from the tourism industry and businesses to roll back some of the most stringent pandemic curbs among rich nations.

The easing of rules on Covid testing will go into effect Sept 7, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Wednesday (Aug 24). The premier made the announcement via video link from his official residence, where he’s isolating as he recovers from a mild case of Covid after testing positive over the weekend.
