Beijing mass testing goes citywide as Covid-19 cases in China’s capital rise

Mass Covid-19 testing is under way for most of Beijing’s population as the Chinese capital races against time to shut down an outbreak of the Omicron variant.

The city government said late on Monday night that 10 more districts will have three rounds of nucleic acid testing completed by Saturday. The announcement followed the start of testing in Chaoyang, Beijing’s largest district, earlier that day.
