Seven inmates killed in jailbreak attempt in northwestern Myanmar

YANGON, March 16 (Xinhua): At least seven inmates were killed and 12 others wounded during an attempted jailbreak in northwestern Myanmar, said a release from the State Administration Council's Information Team.

The release said about 50 inmates on Tuesday allegedly took three hostages including in-charge of the prison director-general U Kyaw Thu while they tried to escape.
