Myanmar logs 2,897 new Covid-19 cases, 7 more deaths

YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar reported 2,897 new coronavirus cases on Monday (Feb 21), bringing the tally in the country to 568,564, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry said 28,480 lab samples were tested on Monday and the daily positivity rate is 10.17 per cent.

The total death toll in the country has risen to 19,338 after seven more deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the past 24 hours, the release said.

According to the ministry's figures, another 1,250 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 524,880.
