KUALA LUMPUR (The Star/ANN): Malaysia's Pestech International Bhd (PSB) and its consortium partner Furukawa Electric Co Ltd have secured two contracts worth 165 million ringgit (US$40.8 million) in Cambodia.
Pestech said this is the company’s first successful venture to export extra high voltage underground cable design and laying capability overseas.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing, Pestech said the consortium was awarded the contract today by Electricite du Cambodge (EdC) of Cambodia for Phnom Penh’s transmission and distribution system expansion project phase 2 (I) – package 3, procurement of underground transmission and distribution line works.
The total contract value is 2.22 billion yen ($20.9 million) and $19.94 million.
PSB pointed out that this is the first 230kV underground cable work project undertaken by EdC in Cambodia.
