THE DRAGON: Players can choose from five playable hero classes -- Warrior, Archer, Mage, Priest and Rogue -- and go up against the monster.

Gamers around the world can now explore the fantasy world of Dragon’s Landing with the latest mobile game Dragon Blaze from Gamevil.

The South Korean RPG (role-playing game) storyline centres around Princess Mercedes, who falls for Deathcrown, the fearsome dragon king of the living and the dead, and her over-protective father Hero King Gram.

The game features five playable hero classes – Warrior, Archer, Mage, Priest and Rogue.

The game offers four modes -- Adventure lets players journey through the world, Boss Raid allows four players to go on boss raids for rare items and weapons rewards, PvP Arena lets them battle each other, and Labyrinth offers endless waves of enemies.

Dragon Blaze was originally released in Korea on the Kakao Talk messaging platform in February 2014 and has been downloaded five million times and is among the top ten grossing apps there.

The game was earlier released in Southeast Asia as part of its soft launch on April 29, and has been transalated into Bahasa Malaysia, Simplified Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and many more.

Gamevil is also famous for its games such as the Zenonia series - Plants War and Cartoon Wars.

Gamevil Southeast Asia managing director Joerg Tente said that at its peak, Dragon Blaze generated US$5mil (RM18mil) per month in South Korea and he believes that the game will be successful in the region.

Tente said that at the end of 2014, the gaming industry in Southeast Asia has already generated more than US$1bil (RM3.6bil).

According to Tente, the Malaysian market is still in its infancy when it comes to mobile games compared to South Korea, China and Japan.

However, he believes that the Southeast Asia market growth is going to double until 2017, and there is enormous growth potential in this region and Malaysia is set to be the second largest just behind Singapore.

Gamers can download the game on their Android and iOS devices for free now.
