Chang festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Rice Dumpling Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is an important festival observed in Chinese culture. The dumplings, made of glutinous rice and wrapped in lotus or bamboo leaves come with various fillings, mainly vegetarian or with meat. InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s chang are handmade with Chef Lo Tian Sion’s secret recipe, using premier ingredients. The Hong Kong ‘Guo Zheng Zong’ Monk-Jump-Over dumpling has a traditional taste, stuffed with dried scallops, mushrooms and other fresh ingredients. The Triangle ‘Khek’ dumpling with Pumpkin and Black Beans are suitable for vegetarians. For something different and unique, ‘Kwai Far’ Dumpling with Imo and Vanilla Ice Cream is a must try. The Trio Flavoured Mini Dumpling appeals to children as it is filled with kaya, Japanese red bean and coconut brown sugar. The dumplings are available until June 7 at Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant. Priced from RM12++, they are available for eat-in and take away. For reservations, call 03-2782 6128.
