Samsung has announced a price revision for its Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G smartphone models in Malaysia, citing continued increases in global component costs.
Effective Sept 7, the Samsung A57 5G with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage will be priced at RM2,899, up RM200 from its original price of RM2,699.
Meanwhile, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model will see a RM220 price cut, dropping from RM2,319 to RM2,099. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant will retain its existing price of RM2,399.
The A37 5G with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will be priced at RM2,199, up RM200 from the original price of RM1,999.
The price for the 8GB RAM with 256GB variant remains at RM1,899.
"While Samsung has continued to make every effort to absorb these rising costs and minimise the impact on consumers, sustained cost pressures across the industry have made this price adjustment necessary," the company said in a statement.
Last month, the company increased the prices of its Galaxy A07 and Galaxy A17 smartphone models in Malaysia.
The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G were released locally in April, with both models featuring a 6.7in display, triple rear camera setup and 5,000mAh battery capacity.
