PETALING JAYA: Recovery efforts are underway to restore services on the Flexi Parking app following a temporary service disruption, says the company.
"Please be informed that system recovery works are still ongoing, and the app service remains unavailable at this time.
"Our team is working to ensure the service can be restored safely and reliably," the company said in a statement today (July 1).
The company first announced a temporary service disruption affecting its systems on June 30.
The Flexi Parking app enables users to pay for on-street parking through their mobile devices across participating local councils, including Majlis Perbandaran Sepang and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.
The issue has prompted local councils like Majlis Bandaraya Seremban and Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan to announce that no compounds will be issued by its enforcement officers during the temporary disruption period.
In some areas such as Penampang in Sabah, its local council said members of the public can still perform parking payments using physical parking coupons.
Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya has announced that parking payment systems including Smart Selangor, Flexi Parking, JomParking, Touch 'n Go eWallet, Setel and Nine are also facing technical issues.
Selangor parking operator Suasa Efektif has also announced on its website that parking fee payments are waived until the app has been fully restored ("Pembayaran caj tempat letak kereta adalah dikecualikan sehingga sistem aplikasi dipulihkan sepenuhnya").
On X (formerly Twitter), some users shared that they have to display notices about the issue on their vehicles to avoid getting compounds.
