WhatsApp has rolled out several new features, including the ability to assign member tags in groups, send event reminders and text stickers for chats.

In a blogpost, the messaging app says member tags are intended to provide context on who the members of a group chat are, or their specific role in the group.

This could, for instance, be set to "Goalkeeper" in a sports team chat, or be used to indicate that a member is someone's parent in a school or community group. Individual members can customise their own tag, which can be changed at any time.

It is also worth noting that users can assign different tags to themselves in different group chats.

Also newly introduced is the ability to send reminders for events created and shared in group chats, with users able to customise when exactly these early reminders should be sent.

Another addition is text stickers, which allow users turn any word into a sticker using Sticker Search, with the option to save newly created stickers directly to sticker packs without sending them in a chat first.
